Rafiabad: Former chief minister and National Conference (NC) vice-president Omar Abdullah on Thursday promised review cases and FIR’s cancelled against state youth since 2015 if his party is voted to power.

The comments were made by the Abdullah during an election rally in Chijhama village of Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

“Our government will review cases against youth who are being called day in, day out at police stations, one by one, registered against our youth right since 2015 and especially of 2016,” Abdullah said, adding they will cancel their FIRs so that our youth are set free.

“We will not change PSA’s name, we will wipe it out from this state so that our elders and mothers do not need to go to police stations to look for their children,” he said.
Abdullah also asked government to relook at the recent order of barring people from highway for two days a week, Wednesday and Sunday.
