Casual laborers without salaries since 18 months, their children protest

Srinagar:  Children of casual laborers working with Public Health Engineering (PHE) on Thursday took to streets to demand the salaries of their parents since 18 months.
Hundreds of laborers along with their children assembled at Partap Park in Srinagar.

The employees said that their salaries have not been paid from past 18 months.

Abdul Qayoom, Budgam district president Casual labourers Association said that their wards are suffering due to inhuman approach of the people at the helm of affairs.

“Schools have denied our wards from sitting in class rooms as we are unable to pay their fees,” Qayoom said.

He said that they are protesting since four days and administration is unmoved at their plight.
