Srinagar: The meteorological department here on Sunday said that there is no forecast of any “adverse weather” for a week, calling into question the state administrations announcement of extending winter vacations in schools and colleges till March 10 “in view of the prevailing inclement weather in Kashmir”.
“Rain /snow has stopped at most places of the state. Weather to improve from today,” said Director meteorological department Sonam Lotus. “(There is) no forecast of any adverse weather for a week,” Lotus added.
The state administration on Friday had extended the winter vacations for schools and colleges until March 10 “in view of the prevailing inclement weather in Kashmir”.
“The class work in all schools, up to higher secondary level, and degree colleges of Kashmir will now resume on March 11 (Monday),” the official had said, according to the reports. The class work in schools and colleges was supposed to resume on March 5.
