According to state’s meteorological department, there was 55.7 mm of rain and snow overnight in Banihal and 75.2 mm of downpour in Batote.

“Besides snowfall of over one foot, there have been multiple landslides in Ramban to Ramsoo as well as a result of which traffic was halted,” said a traffic department official.

He said that only stranded traffic will be allowed once the thoroughfare was made traffic worthy.

According to reports hundreds of vehicles have been stranded on the Highway.
