JDU urges Governor to address miseries of people stuck in snow bound areas of J&K

JAMMU, Feb 8: Janta Dal (United) JD(U) Dtate President G M Shaheen alongwith other senior party leaders on Friday urged upon the Governor Satya Pal Malik to address the problems and  miseries being faced by stranded passengers who are stuck in both the regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh due to heavy snowfall and rainfall for the last 2 days.

Shaheen while addressing the media at party headquarters Airlines  Complex Jammu demanded that stranded passengers should be airlifted to their destinations so that they reached to dear ones who are still waiting for their presence in home with their parents.

He added that present dispensation also put in place additional Airline services in J&K to end uncertainty due to unpredictable heavy snowfall and rainfall in the state for the last many days.

He further urged upon the Governor to arrange food and staying arrangements in Jammu for stranded passengers stucked at General Bus Stand Jammu for last days so that they did feel at their homes.

He further demanded to immediate compensate those people who lost their homes due to Avalanche happened since heavy snowfall and rainfall in Various parts of J&K including compensate those farmers and orchard owners who have faced natural calamities for the last two months.

He further urged upon the Governor to directe all Deputy Commissioners to publicize all contact numbers of control rooms in the different media networks for prompt redressal of public grievances and to review the preparedness of all snow bound districts.

He demanded that Rescue Teams should deployed at avalanche prone areas including health institutions should also be functional normally with proper heating arrangements and patients are being attended by the doctors and paramedics besides hassle free ambulance services in their respective districts.

He added thatl district and departmental control rooms should be activated in snow bound areas for 24×7  to meet any exigency during the inclement weather period.
