Shah Faesal asks youth to ‘walk the talk’: ‘My choice of politics will be decided by real people’

Srinagar: Shah Faesal, the sole Kashmiri civil service exam topper who quit Indian Administrative Service last month to protest the unabated killings among other reasons, on Sunday announced to spent half of Rs 4.83 lakhs of funds received by him during crowdfunding campaign for “clean politics and corruption-free administration” for education needs of pellet victims.
“In two days of crowd funding we received Rs. 4.83 Lac. The most fascinating part of the brief campaign was that a good part of it comprised of contributions less than Rs. 10 mainly from thousands of students,” he said in his facebook post.
“We deeply value this sentiment,” he said, adding, “It has been decided that for now half of this amount will be spent on the educational needs of pellet victims. Thank you very much for the support.”
Faesal had resigned to protest “unabated killings in Kashmir, and lack of any sincere reach-out from the Union government; the marginalisation and invisiblisation of around 200 million Indian Muslims at the hands of Hindutva forces reducing them to second-class citizens; insidious attacks on the special identity of J&K and growing culture of intolerance and hate in mainland India in the name of hypernationalism”.
