Qayoom wani tenders volunteer retirement, EJAC accepts his resignation

Srinagar: Abdul Qayoom Wani, a well-known unionist who usually remained in news to support the demands of employees on Friday submitted volunteer retirement from the government services.  

Wani has also tendered his resignation from the basic membership of all the forums he was heading including Teachers Joint Action Committee, Employees Joint Action committee and Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum.

Talking to INS, Wani said that he has submitted the volunteer retirement from the servicers, saying that he has also resigned from the basic membership of forums.

He added that he is in contact with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership and said that the discussion over several things is going on and he is expecting a breakthrough tomorrow morning.

Wani further added that his joining into politics was aimed to serve the people selflessly.

Meanwhile, EJAC has accepted the resignation of Wani and has appointed its senior Vice President, Fayaz Ahmad Shabnum as Care Taker president.

The Apex body of the EJAC has further stated that a meeting of the General council of JKEJAC has been called on Feb 09 in which future course of action will be decided.
