3 persons held with Rs 45000 fake currency in Kupwara: Police

Kupwara: Police on Monday said that it has arrested three persons along fake currency worth Rs 45,000 form villagam Handwara here in this north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Officials said that on basis of information, a police team led by SDPO Hnadwara Tariq Mehmood busted a fake currency racket having demonstrations of Rs 500 notes. Three persons carrying the money were intercepted at Tarathpora and from their possession fake notes were recovered.
Officials Identified the accused as Nisar Ahmad Bhat, Amir Maqbool Bhat , both residents of Hafrada Villagam and Nisar Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Dahama Villgam.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation into the matter was going on, official said.
