Woman among 2 killed, 24 people injured as bus overturns on Kathua highway

Jammu: A woman was among two persons killed and 24 others injured on Sunday when a bus carrying Vaishno Devi pilgrims from Gujarat overturned along the Jammu-Pathankot Highway in Kathua district of Jammu, police said on Sunday.
The dead have been identified as Remeala Bhan (50) and Mena Bhan (40) from Gujarat, a police official said INS.
The pilgrims were returning from the shrine and heading towards Amritsar when the vehicle hit the divider before turning turtle near Dayala check, a police official said.
He said rescuers immediately swung into action and shifted the injured to district hospital Kathua.
Later, among the injured, 18 of them were referred to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu, he said adding two of them were declared brought dead on arrival.
