Govt asks DCs to ensure Jan 26 is celebrated in ‘befitting manner’, employees attend official functions

Srinagar: The governor administration has asked all Deputy Commissioners to make all the necessary arrangements in their respective Districts and ensure that the 26th January was celebrated in a “befitting manner.”
“The seventieth republic day of our nation will be celebrated on the 26th January (Saturday) across the State with traditional fervor and gaiety. It is impressed upon all the Deputy Commissioners to make all the necessary arrangements in their respective Districts/Divisions/tehsils to ensure that the Republic Day 2019 (26th January) as be celebrated in a befitting manner,” reads an order issued by the government.
“It shall also be ensured that the officers/officials/ employees of their respective Districts, attend the function as a part of their official duty. Besides, invitation may be extended to the local representatives and the general public to participate in the Republic Day function,” it added.
