TRAL : Scores of residents in South Kashmir’s Tral town on Friday morning assembled near “Aabgar” area and staged a strong protest demonstration against the power issues in the area.
Protesting residents blocked Tral-Dadasara road at 11:30 AM to protest against power crisis in the area.
According to protesters, from past few weeks PDD authorities have resorted to unscheduled power cuts in the area which has irked them “a lot.”
The protesters threatened not pay bills to the department if the electricity is not restored in the area.
They said that their children, are not able to study well in the absence of electricity and said “despite back to back requests to concerned deptt. nothing has been done so far” to provide better electricity in the area.
On that occasion, protesting people have demanded the immediate intervention of higher authorities into the matter to mitigate their problems.
They also demanded the transfer of concerned Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) in the sub division.
Pertinently, residents in Dadsara village of Tral also protested against PDD and locked down the power receiving station to protest against unscheduled power cuts in the area.
The protesters there took to the streets early in the morning and chanted Anti-PDD slogans.
They also demanded immediate end to unscheduled powers cuts in their area.
