Budgam: Two schools, Government Secondary School (GSS) Sitharan and GSS Bugroo in Budgam have secured zero percent result in recently declared tenth class exams in Kashmir. \

While GSS Sitharan had 16 students who appeared in annual regular exams but none among them qualified, and GSS Bugroo only had two students and both could not make it.
According to locals in Sitharan the GSS school present there began to deteriorate after English, Math and Urdu teacher were transferred last year before the commencement of session.
“Some students were retained by the principal of the GSS as well,” they claimed.

For GSS Bugroo they said that the ‘it was due to callousness of school teachers’.

However a school teacher confided that school authorities repeatedly asked the parents of the duo to come to school as they are barely coming to school.

“Parents are to  be blamed who take schooling so callously that even after repeated pleas they never bothered to visit school. Now the result is theirs to see,” he said.

Fareed Aijaz, who is holding the additional charge of Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Khag termed the zero percent result of GSS Sitharan as a collective failure of teachers, students and parents.
“Besides having a good staff strength at GSS Sitharan it is unfortunate to witness zero percent results,” he said.
“We will investigate the whole scenario and action would be initiated as per the already issued directions in order to avoid such poor results in future,” Aijaz added.
