HC quashes five PSA detention orders

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has quashed detention orders under Public Safety Act, against five detainees by district magistrates of Baramulla and Pulwama.
A bench of Justice Rashid Ali Dar quashed detention orders passed by Abdul Majeed Mir of Barmulla, Abdul Majid Shah of Pulwama, Arizoo Bashir Najar of Pulwama, Shameem Ahmad Mir of Pulwama and Mohammad Hanief Sheikh.
Regarding Shameem Ahmad Mir and Abdul Majeed Mir, the court directed that their further custody shall be governed in accordance with the orders as shall be passed by the court of competent jurisdiction in the criminal case registered against him.
As regards the remaining detainees, the court directed authorities to set free detainees from the preventive custody, if not required in connection with any other case.
