Srinagar: At least six people are reported to be injured in the subsequent clashes that erupted after four militants were killed in a gunbattle in south Kashmir’s Pulwama village on Saturday.

The clashes between protesters and government forces erupted in Hanjan village of Rajpora

Reports said that one civilian, among the injured, has suffered bullet injury in his hand.

“Three others have been hit by pellets while one each has been hit by a stone and a tear smoke shell,” they said.

Police sources said that the gunfight erupted in Hanjan village of the south Kashmir district after a joint team of government forces including army’s 44 Rashtriya Rifles, CRPF’s 182, 183 Battalions and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a cordon and search operation in the village following credible inputs about presence of militants in the area.
