Pulwama: A civilian was killed and five others injured in government forces action to quell clashes that erupted near the site of a gunfight in Kharpora Sirnoo area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday. Three militants were killed and two army men injured in the gunfight.
Hundreds of youth took to streets and clashes with government forces as soon as news broke about the gunfight, reports .
The government forces used live ammunition, pellets and tear gas against protesting civilians who were trying to march towards the gunfight site, report said further.
A youth identified as Amir Ahmad Palla of Ashminder village of Pulwama was severally injured and shifted to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment. However Amir succumbed to grave wounds before reaching Srinagar.
