Srinagar: Gunmen Wednesday morning attacked a political worker in Lalbazar area Srinagar city.

Identified as Sajad Mirza, sources said that he is affiliated with Janata Dal (United) party.

Mirza, they said, was coming to visit his family in Lalbazar.

Police said that gunmen fired shots from a pistol at Mirza’s vehicle but he escaped unhurt. “Mirza was whisked away safely by his PSO’s,” they said.

Police has registered a case into the incident and taken up investigations.
