Srinagar, May 23: A day after the government announced revised school timing amid heatwave, the parents here have demanded authorities to reduce the one-hour school time for the wellbeing of their wards.

The parents from different parts of Kashmir including Srinagar told the INS that the change is school timing is a welcoming step.

However, they demanded that the school hours should be reduced by one hour upto 1:30 PM only in order to ensure the wellbeing of the wards.

The parents said that the situation worsens in the congested classrooms in heatwave conditions due to the huge presence of students. “The school hours should be reduced so that the possibility of any untoward incident is prevented.

Meanwhile, the Health and Education Minister, Sakeena Itoo could not be contacted for the comments.
