Budgam gunfight: 30 injured in clashes, six shifted to Srinagar

Srinagar: At least thirty civilians have suffered injuries during clashes with government forces in Chattergam area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Two militants, including top Lashkar commander Naveed Jatt and his accomplice, were killed in a gunfight in the area earlier today.

Reports said that the clashes erupted while the gunfight was going on in Kathpora village of Chattergam area.

” Protesters pelted government forces with stones and rocks who retaliated by firing pellets and tear smoke shells to disperse protester,” locals said.

Hospital authorities told INS that almost thirty injured they have received including five with pellet gun injuries and one had received bullet injury in left leg.

“Five pellet gun injured and a bullet injured have been shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment,” he said.
