Kulgam: Two militants have been killed in an encounter with government in Redwani area of Qaimoh in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday. A soldier was also critically injured in the firefight, reports and officials said.
They said that a joint team of army’s 1RR, CRPF and SOG cordoned off Redwani after midnight following inputs about the presence of militants. A gunfight ensued at around 3 a.m. and two militants were killed and their identity was being established, they said. A soldier Prakash Yafav has been critically injured and was evacuated to army hospital.
Meanwhile, massive clashes erupted in the area soon after the news about the encounter spread in the area. The authorities have already snapped internet services in the area.
