Rajouri: A Special Police Officer (SPO) has been booked by district police authorities for indulging in election campaign in violation of model code of conduct in Rajouri district of Jammu division of Jammu and Kashmir.

“A Special Police Officer namely Fayaz Ahmed from darhal has been booked by police under preventive sections 107/117 CrPC at police station Darhal after reports regarding his involvement in election campaiging in favour of a female candidate for panch from his family in block Darhal due to which there was a immediate threat of scuffle between opposite groups of people supporting their respective candidates resulting in breach of peace and disturbing public tranquility,” an official said.

Reports  regarding government employees indulging in election campaigns are being investigated by authorities, official said.
