Gunfight rages in Tral village of southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district

Srinagar: An encounter started between militants and government forces started in Dar-Ganiegund Mohalla of Tral township in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama on Friday.

Reports said that gunfight ensued after govt forces cordoned off the village — 15 kms from Tral township after specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area and started a search operation.

They said that during the searches the hiding militants fired at the forces triggering a gunfight.

Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF are engaged in the gunfight. More details are awaited.
