KU submits first phase of documents for re- accreditation by NAAC

Srinagar, November 01: Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir (KU) Prof. Talat Ahmad chaired a high level meeting to review the data and documents to be submitted to NAAC for 3rd reaccreditation cycle after the University had already submitted the Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA) in the first phase.

The meeting was attended by Dean Academic Affairs KU Prof Musadiq Amin Sahaf, Dean Research Prof Zaffar Reishi, Controller of Examinations Prof Farooq Mir, Deans of various faculties, , Heads and Directors of various Departments and Centers, members of DIQA and other officers of the University.

 

During the meeting Prof Talat emphasized upon the need to work with deadlines for achieving the targets in a time bound manner.

 

The Vice Chancellor underlined the importance of quality assurance for Universities and colleges with special reference to process of accreditation.

He prompted all the quarters to do their best and expedite submission of necessary information details to NAAC.

 

Chief Coordinator DIQA, Dr. Manzoor Shah, apprised the house about the various aspects of the Self Study Report (SSR) that was followed up by a discussion on how to take the University to new heights and overcome the challenges that are faced by this premier institution of the valley.

 

It is pertinent to mention that the University was accredited with Grade ‘A’ in previous accreditation cycle and it is making its all efforts to improve its ranking in the upcoming cycle.

 

The University, nevertheless, has been recently ranked high in the world QS ranking and was ranked in top 50 Universities of the country by the MHRD under the NIRF.
