Sopore: Two militants killed encounter in Pazalpora area of Sopore have been identified and one among them is a top Lashkar e Toiba commander who carried a bounty of Rs 5 lakhs. The duo were in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.

Police sources said that Top Commander of LeT Abu Maaz and his close associate Ali Bhai Zubair were killed in Yesterday’s encounter.

Sources said that Maaz was the top commander of LeT in North Kashmir and featured among the top ten most wanted militants. He was one of the longest surviving militants and carried reward money of Rs 5 lakh on his head.

He was also involved in the recent civilian killings of Meat shop owner Tariq Ahmad Bhat who was abducted first from his shop at Younisa village of Handwara then killed, police claimed.
