Shopian: Clashes have erupted in Dreed Kalipora village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district after government forces launched Cordon and Search Operation in the area on Saturday.

Reports said that forces including Army, CRPF and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police laid siege over Shiekh Mollah DK Pora village after receiving input about presence of militants in village.

As forces launched search operation youth took to streets and clashes with forces and pelted stones and bricks on forces.

Forces retaliated with tear gassing them to disperse the protesting youth, who, according to last reports, were continuing to protest.

Army sources said that they have sealed all entry and exit points while door to door searchs are going in the village.
