Shopian: At least 20 persons were injured in clashes with government forces amid a cordon-and-search-operation in Dreed Kalipora village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday.
Reports said the youth suffered pellet injuries in government forces action during the clashes which ensued soon after a joint team of police, army and CRPF laid siege in the village early on Saturday.
Sources in PHC DK Pora said 20 youths with pellet injuries were received at the medical facility and three of them were shifted to District hospital Shopian from where two were referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment.
Earlier the joint team of government forces launched CASO in village after receiving input about presence of militants. The youth took to streets and pelted stones on government forces and dingdong battle continued for the day and ended after the government forces lifted the siege, the reports added.
