Tral: At least ten people in Dadasara village in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district have been diagnosed with jaundice, prompting the health authorities to conduct medical camps in the affected village on Friday.
Locals said scores of men, women and children in the Village have fallen sick due to the consumption of “dirty water from an irrigation canal.”
Acting swiftly, a team of doctors and paramedics was rushed to the village and so far 10 cases of jaundice have been detected while further checkups were going on.
Medical Officer SDH Tral, Dr. Paramjeet Singh, said that people shouldn’t panic as “it is under control now.”
While advising people to follow precautionary measures, he said that the affected people have been provided medical intervention.
Meanwhile, locals have said that irrigation department should once again provide water supply to the canal to mitigate the problems of people.
