Srinagar, September 01: A three-day multidisciplinary workshop on Theatre, Music, Folk Arts and Literature was organised by Division of Youth Affairs, Department of Students Welfare (DSW),University of Kashmir in which around 40 students from various educational institutions of Kashmir participated.
Experts from relevant fields conducted the workshop with the students during which students were provided orientation by the subject experts in their areas of interest.
While presiding over the valedictory function Dean Students Welfare, KU Prof. GN Khaki impressed upon the students to participate more and more in such activities regularly so that their overall personality would be honed in such programmes organised by DSW.
He also requested the experts from various universities of India to make their cultural teams visit KU so that cultural exchange programmes could be initiated.
Cultural Office, KU Shahid Ali khan welcomed the guests and informed that this workshop was organised in view of the 34th AIU University festivals scheduled from November this year.
The three-day workshop covered the following subjects and experts from relevant fields conducted the workshop with the students.
In Theatre arts , Dr. Vikram Panchal– An acclaimed Director of Films and Theatre from Gujarat University worked with the students in acting and dialogue delivery while in Music; Dr. Santosh Pathak Ph.D in Sitar and Indian Vocal Music and Cultural Coordinator at Banasthali University, Rajasthan guided the students in various forms of music including western , light vocal and classical music.
Dr. Rekha Mukherjee, and Cultural Coordinator from Gujarat University conducted the workshop in literary and western music Events and Dr. Bhupali Kashyap, the Cultural Officer at Tezpur University, Assam Subject Expert on Folk Arts guided the students in Folk Orchestra and folk arts.
