Omar takes oath as first CM of J&K UT, Surinder Choudhary as his Deputy

Srinagar, Oct 16: National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah Wednesday took oath as the first chief minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir here at SKICC.

The oath was administered by the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in a swearing-on ceremony in which Leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, AICC leader Priyanka Gandhi, party president Malikkarjun Kharge, MP Akhilesh Yadav and other INDIA bloc leaders participated.

Only six ministers including the chief minister and his deputy took oath today at SKICC.

Surinder Kumar Choudhary took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister today while Sakina Ittoo, Javid Ahmad Rana, Javid Ahmad Dar and Satish Sharma took sworn in as ministers.
