Srinagar: Search operation has been resumed in the forest range near Line of control in Gurez sector of Bandipora district on Wednesday.

Army sources said that the operation was launched on Wednesday morning with the first light and so far no fresh contact was established with the militants.
Officials say that they had suspended operation on Tuesday night due to darkness but the forest remained under a tight cover to not let militants escape.
They further added that it is too early to say that the remaining militants have escaped back or are still present in the area.
“More troops have joined the operation, while para commando’s were pressed into service yesterday only,” sources said.
The four army personnel killed yesterday were identified as Major K Prakash Kumar Rane (SM) soldier Vikram Jeet Singh, Hameer Singh and Mandeep Singh of 36 Rashtriya Rifles (RR).
Army meanwhile paid tributes to the soldiers at the BB Cantonement, and the army spokesman said that the bodies will be flown to their native places.
