Funeral prayers offered for militants, civilian killed in Shopian

Srinagar: People on Sunday offered funeral prayers in absentia for five militants and a civilian killed in Shopian district of south Kashmir on Saturday.
Scores of people assembled at Maisuma locality of Srinagar after Zuhr prayers and offered the funeral prayers for the slain militants and the civilian.
Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik had asked people to offer prayers for the slain.
Five militants were killed in an overnight gunfight with the forces in Kiloora village of Shopian while a civilian,Bilal Ahmad Khan, a resident of Pujoo village of Kral Chuk,  was killed in army firing in Ganowpora village
The slain militants include Umar Malik of Malikgund, Arshad Ahmad of Ganowpora Balpora, Waqar Ahmad Sheikh of Malikgund, Aijaz Ahmad Paul of Lousdanew, and Arif Ahmad Mir from Yannar village of Pahalgam.
