Kulgam: A spontaneous shutdown started in the areas of Khudwani and Qaimoh in Kulgam District of South kashmir on Wednesday after Government forces arrested 7 youth.

According to locals the youths were arrested after Army stopped the public transport Tata bus in the area.
Eyewitness said that at least 7 college youths were arrested near Skuast Branch in the Khudwani area, when the youth were on the way to home from college.

As the news spread through the whole area of Khud wani, shopkeepers in the area drowned their shutters and youth came out on the streets.

The people of the whole area demanding the immediate release of the college students, locals said.
Clashes have also erupted in the area with youth pelting stones of forces.

“Forces retaliated with firing tear smoke shells to disperse them,” locals said.
