“In view of the death of one Javaid Ahmad Malik S/o Mohd Khalil Malik R/o Bharat Doda who was arrested in Police Station Chhatroo in case FIR No. 26/2018 U/S 188 RPC read with 3 PC Act, the District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana has ordered a Magisterial Enquiry to be conducted by Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Imam Din. The enquiry officer shall submit report of his findings in a specified time frame,” police spokesman said.

In the meanwhile, the Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary has attached SHO Police Station Chatroo Inspector Mohd Bashir to District Police lines. In his place the SSP has placed Sub-Inspector Sanjeeve Kumar as Incharge SHO Chatroo. The SSP has placed Munshi (MHC) of the Police Station Jaffar Khan under suspension along with another Selection Grade Constable Mohd Amin. The SSP has also recommended dismissal of services of Mohd Shreef VHG.
“Besides, the Senior Superintendent of Police has ordered a thorough departmental probe to be conducted by Dy SP Headquarters Kishtwar Nihar Ranjan into tge incident. On the directions of SSP an FIR No. 28/2018 under section 223/224 RPC has also been registered against police officials for negligence on their part.
The SSP maintained that whosoever is found guilty in the magisterial and departmental probes shall be strictly dealt with under law,” he said.
