Srinagar: Unknown gunmen on Friday shot at and injured a cleric at Parigam village in Pulwama district of south Kashmir.

Reports said that the unknown gunmen fired upon Molvi Mohammad Ashraf Thokar, originally a resident of Bijbehara. Thokar, with bullet injuries in both legs, was taken to nearby hospital where from he was referred to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment. He is an Imam of a local Hanfia Masjid at Parigam village.

A police officer  said that a case has been registered and investigations into incident have been started.
