Amarnath Yatra remains suspended

Srinagar: Amarnath Yatra remains suspended as bad weather conditions persist and authorities  on Thursday did not allow yatris to travel  towards the Kashmir Valley from Jammu.
“ Movement is halted after a landslide hit the Baltal trek course on Tuesday,” official said.
An official said that no yatri was allowed to move towards the cave from Baltal base camp due to slippery track route and bad weather conditions.

The official also said due to landslide on Tuesday evening in which three yatries died on spot at Bardimarg.

Choppers take pilgrims to Amarnath Cave, Land route remains closed due to bad weather and landslide which occurred on Tuesday evening at Bradimarg Baltal area.

So far, 60,752 pilgrims have performed the Yatra ever since it started on June 28.
