Two dead after load carrier falls into gorge in Kupwara

Kupwara: The death toll in accident at Manzpathar Chowkibal in Kupwara rose to three on Monday after one of the critically injured persons succumbed to injuries at a hospital in Srinagar.
A minor boy identified as Parvez Ahmad Khowaja (23) son of Mohammad Yousuf Khowaja died on spot and four others were critically injured after a load carrier plying from chowkibal to Kralpora turned turtle and fell into deep gorge at Manzpathar Chowkibal on Monday.
The injured persons were evacuated to Kupwara district hospital from where critically shifted persons were shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment.
The other deceased persons were identified as Rayees Ahmad Sheikh (14) son of Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh of Dardpora and Ishfaq Khatana son of Abdul Rashid of Satboyen Dardpora.
Police have registered a case in this regard and ascertaining the facts, an official told INS.
