Thousands youths Participate in Army Recruitment Rally in Bandipora

Bandipora: Hundreds of youth have participated in 6 days long Army Recruitment rally in Sonarwani area of Bandipora District of Northern Kashmir.

The recruitment rally covered all 10 districts of Kashmir Valley; Anantnag, Kulgam, Srinagar, Bandipora, Shopian, Budgam, Pulwama, Kupwara, Baramulla and Ganderbal.

On the Sidelines of Recruitment Rally, Commander Officer PS Joshi said that a total of 9500 candidates had been registered, out of them 7500 candidates participated in 6 days long Recruitment Rally.

He said that candidates are being screened for physical fitness, medical examination and documentation. Successful candidates will then undergo written test which will be held in the month of July. He said that candidates has to clear all these tests and examination in high standards so as to get a seat in the final merit list.

“This is positive sign despite bad situation in Kashmir valley. We saw huge turnout even in Holly Month of Ramzan,” Joshi said.

Earlier a video went viral on social media in which unknown persons stopped the youths coming to recruitment rally.

The unverified video shows that boys coming from many parts of south Kashmir being accused as Informers.

“We are from Bandipora, we didn’t participate in this recruitment rally and you came all the way from south Kashmir to get recruited in Army.  Shame on you, you are playing with the blood of Martyrs,” unknown persons could be heard saying.
