Budgam: An elderly man killed outside the Air Force Station in Budgam has been identified as Syed Habibullah, of Soibugh village of the central Kashmir district Budgam.

Police sources confirmed to INS that Habibullah is a resident of Astanpura locality.

“The family of the mentally unstable Habibullah has reached Police control room to receive the body,” police sources said.

Habibulah was shot dead when he “entered” high security zone Air Force Station in Budgam on mid-night, a police spokesman said early Monday.
“He crossed the security fence and came close to the station perimeter wall. Despite repeated warning from the sentry the individual did not stop. The sentry fired some warning shots in air but the individual did not stop. The sentry fired towards him,” a police spokesman had said.

Police claimed that the deceased was ‘mentally challenged’.
