Thousands attend funeral prayers of slain civilian in Shopian

Shopian: Thousands of people gathered in Shopian to attend the funeral of slain civilian, Shafiq Shah of Khar Mollah in the south Kashmir district.
Shafiq succumbed to injuries which he suffered when suspected militants attacked CRPF patrol in Lazibal area of Anantnag.
As soon as the body of slain civilian reached his home town, people burst into wails. Women in particular were seen beating chests and heads.
People from far off places reached Shopian’s Main town to pay homage to the slain civilian.”People in thousands have gathered here to offer funeral prayers of Shafiq”, said a civilian from Khar Mollah main town Shopian. Shafiq was BA second year student of Degree College.  (picture for illustration purposes)
