Directs early completion of Jamabandis

POONCH:  The Deputy Commissioner Poonch Mohammad Aijaz Asad held a conference of revenue officials of the district to review the functioning of the department vis-a-vis law and order,  services being provided under Public Service Guarantee Act, progress on DILRMP, status of land acquisition in various developmental projects and overall administrative supervision in the district.

Director Surveys and Land Records Rajouri-Poonch Shoket Hussain Kazmi, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohd Ashraf, SDM Mendhar Mohd Tanvir, SDM Surankote Mohd Rashid Kohli besides Tehsildars and Naib-Tehsildars of all five tehsils of the district attended the meeting.

On the onset the meeting was informed that in the district Jamabandis in respect of 101 of 178 villages has been completed in all aspects whereas the work on remaining Jamabandis is taken up which shall be completed in due course of time. The Director Land Surveys and Record informed the house of achievements made under prestigious Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme (DILRMP). The DC directed the concerned to expedite the completion of remaining Jamabandis besides updation of revenue record.

          The meeting also embarked on the pending cases of land acquisition in the district causing hindrance in taking up key developmental projects of public importance. He stressed upon the officers to coordinate with indenting departments, acquire the land in time bound manner for projects and also pay the compensation to land owners proactively. While laying great emphasis on the land acquisition cases for construction of roads under PMGSY, directions were given for speedy disposal of such cases so that maximum number of villages are connected before the scheme get closed on March 31, 2018.

The DC also called upon the SDMs and Tehsildars to enhance their public outreach by organising camps in the remotest of habitation for providing services enlisted under Public Service Delivery Act. He asked them to send their tour diaries on regular basis to his office.

They were also directed to notify a calendar for days of week on which patwaris will tour their respective Halqas and interact with people.

Referring to the Revenue conference held by the Revenue Minister he directed the concerned to complete exercise for identification of land for construction of patwar khanas. He said that efforts are on to strengthen the Revenue Department by providing a better infrastructure and addressing the demands of officials.
