Following militant killing in Lam forests, Tral observes shutdown today

Tral Township of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district observed a complete shutdown to mourn the killing of four militants on Tuesday.

According to reports all shops and other business establishments are closed in the town while traffic is off the roads. Heavy deployment remained on various spots across the Tral town and some other areas to thwart any attempts of protests.

Four militants, one policeman and an Army man were killed in an encounter  in the dense forests of Gutangoo hamlet of Jawaharpora Laam, in Tral. Out of the six slain, three belong to Tral region.

The encounter that was jointly carried out by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police, 48 RR and CRPF, started at around 6.30 am on Tuesday and concluded at around 5 with the killing of four militants, one policeman and an army man were also killed
