Kidnapped minor girl back to her home, police

Srinagar, April 09: A minor girl who had been kidnapped was recovered by police, handed over to her parents while the accused of the crime has been put behind the bars, police said on Monday.4

The minor girl (name withheld) had been kidnapped by one accused  Tariq Ahmad Wagay son of Mohammad Abdullah Wagay resident of Armulla Lassipora on 01/04/2018 and accordingly a case FIR No. 94/2018 under section 363 RPC was registered in Police Station Pulwama, police said.

A special team headed by SDPO Litter, SHO PS Pulwama, DO Police Post Lassipora was constituted on the directions of SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam and a manhunt was launched to nab the culprit.  Search was carried out by the team throughout the valley and they left no stone unturned to recover the kidnapped girl.

“Finally Police Pulwama succeeded to recover the minor girl and arrested the accused abductor today on 09/04/18. The girl was handed over to her parents and the accused is now behind the bars. The General public of the Litter/ Lassipora area appreciated the prompt and swift action of Pulwama Police,” police said.
