BHADERWAH : Police Wednesday arrested two dozen protesters from Domail area of Bhaderwah who were agitated against the shortage of doctors especially Gynocologist in Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah.

The protesters alleged that the government had recently transferred a gynaecologist to the Bhaderwah sub-district hospital, but she has not joined her duties even after 10 days.

Protesters blocked highway for for more than hour leading to disruption in vehicular movement. They were raising slogans against government ‘for its step-motherly treatment with Bhaderwah.’

“There is a dearth of specialist doctors in the hospital and we want the government to appoint someone so that people could get quality treatment,” Youth Action Committee President Naseer Mehboob said.

“I have taken up the matter with higher-ups. The said doctor has been relived from the Doda hospital and asked to join the duty here. Hopefully, she will join the duty within a couple of days,” ADC Bhaderwah Imam u din said.
