Visit of 15th Finance Commission starts in April

Jammu: The visit of 15th Finance Commission (FC) to the state is slated to be from the 2nd week of April.

The 15th FC constituted on November 27, 2017 with N.K. Singh as its Chairman, shall make its report available by 30th October, 2019, covering a period of five years commencing 1st April, 2020.

During the visit, the Commission will hold wide-ranging consultations with all the stake holders including the state Government, trade and industry, financial institutions and political parties.

Chief Secretary, B B Vyas Tuesday chaired a meeting here with Administrative Secretaries, in view of the upcoming visit. The Chief Secretary urged the Administrative Secretaries to fully gear up for the visit of the Finance Commission and submit the necessary proposals based on critical analysis of their departmental requirements/priority areas for the next 5-10 years, to the Finance Department by 3rd April.
