Chattisgarh: At least eight personnel of the 212 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have been killed while six were injured including four critically in a powerful IED blast by Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Tuesday, Indian Express reported.
According to the Indian Express report the CRPF personnel were conducting an area-domination operation in a forest in the Kistaram area when their mine-protected vehicle (MPV) was reportedly blown up, possibly by several explosives.
The report quoting official sources say that the casualties are likely to rise.
“Of the six injured, four are in a critical condition. Reinforcements were rushed to the spot soon after the attack,” the Indian Express said.
