Schools reopen after winter break

Srinagar: All the Schools of Kashmir Valley except in four districts of Shopian, Anantnag, Pulwama and Kulgam re-opened on Saturday after winter vacations. Students were seen very happy as they headed to their schools after the long vacations and the teachers were seen busy in welcoming the students. The vacations were extended following the killing of six persons, four of them civilians, in Shopian by army. The schools upto 8th standard were scheduled to reopen on March  5 but the vacations were extended first by two days than by as many days till today. The schools beyond 8th standard reopened last week of the last month. These institutions were also closed following the killings of civilians in the south Kashmir district on Sunday evening.
