Kupwara: The funeral prayers in absentia were held for the three persons who were buried in an avalanche in Lashkote forests of Lolab in north Kashmir on Saturday.
Thousands attended the funeral prayers on Tuesday in Warnow and Dardpora areas of Lolab as the missing persons could not be traced out.
The trio buried under avalanche was identified as Altaf Ahmad Mir son of Bashir Ahmad Mir, Ghulam Mohammad Lone son of Ali Mohammad Lone resident of Warnow Lolab and Bashir Ahmad Ganaie son of Ghulam Ganaie resident of Dardpora Lolab.
The rescue operation launched on Sunday was called off due to untoward weather conditions in the area.
However, police and district administration said they are in contact with higher ups to get a better team to launch rescue operation again.
