4 rounds of funerals held for slain Hizb militant; shutdown in Tral

Tral: Four rounds of funeral prayers were held for slain under custody Hizbul Mujahideen militant, in Tral area of this south Kashmir district. Eyewitnesses said some militants also appeared at the funeral and offered gun-salute to their fellow.
In a grenade blast at police station Tral, an under custody militant identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Chopan of Waged area of Tral was killed while as policeman was also injured in that blast.
Soon after the dead body of Mushtaq reached his ancestral village on Monday evening, people in huge numbers assembled at his house, to offer funeral prayers and express solidarity with the family.
Amid pro-freedom, pro-militants and anti-India slogans, Mushatq was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Waged Tral on Tuesday.
Eye witnesses told that 4 rounds of funeral prayers were held for Mushtaq since Monday evening.
Clashes also erupted in many parts of Tral sub division on Monday evening, but later on situation came under control.
Meanwhile, spontaneous shutdown is being observed in Tral on Tuesday.
Authorities have also deployed heavy contingent of forces in Tral to prevent clashes and protests in the area.
