CPWs protests at Mini Secretariat district Ganderbal, demand regularization

Ganderbal: Hundreds of Contingent paid workers (CPW) of education department of Ganderbal district protested at Mini Secretariat ground on Monday demanding regularization of services and enhancement of salaries.

“Our services as CPW workers is yet to be regularized even after having about 25 years of services in the department,” District President CPW Ganderbal Nazir Ahmad said.

Nazir said that CPW’s have to work from 10 am to 4 pm in schools and ‘are paid meagre salary of Rs 200 to 1500 per month.’

Chief Education officer, Ganderbal, Sheikh Mohd Afzal told INS that government is looking into the demands of CPWs.

“Government is scrutinising the cases of CPW, genuine candidates will be considered as per rules,” Afzal claimed.
