Kupwara: Day after police claimed to have solved the murder case of missing goldsmith in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district by arresting four persons, his family on Wednesday held protest outside the offices of DDC and SSP here demanding his body and stern action against the culprits.
Police on Monday said Tariq Ahmad Malik, 32, who has been missing since December 26 has been murdered after abduction. He was robbed off and strangulated after abduction and his body was thrown into Jhelum, police said.
A resident of Kalaroos in Kupwara, Tariq was presently putting up at Baba Yousuf, Sopore.
While protesting on Wednesday, the family blocked the highway for hours demanding the body of Tariq.
