“This would end the dual control over the functioning of these health centres and improve their functioning with more expertise and equipment from the premier health institute of the State,” government said.

The demand for ending the dual control over these institutions and handing them over to SKIMS had come from people during Mehbooba’s public grievances redressal programmes at Bandipora and Ganderbal on December 03 and 04 recently.

The health institutions which the SKIMS would be taking over include, besides CHC, Sumbal, PHC, Trigam; NTPHCs, Nowgam, Asham and Odina; Unani Dispensary, Ganistan and Shadipora and Sub Centres at Panzinara, Dangerpora, Zalpora, Nesbal, Gadkhud, Ankhul, Shilwat and ChekGanistan.
